Show your support! 

Did you know that all of the extra activities at Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery (derbies, clinics, workshops, events, etc...) is paid by Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery? Some events just need us to purchase lunch for presenters. Other events, such as the derbies, need the whole event funded. Our job, is to raise money for these events. For the smaller events, our gift shop sales and donation box donations cover the expenses. For the larger events, members of our group hold fundraising events or go from business to business or ask individuals for their support. 

Catch-A-Rainbow Kids Fishing Derby

The Catch-A-Rainbow Kids Fishing Derby (CAR) attracts about 1,300 children. The children bring their family. The event attracts about 4,000 people total. The whole event is FREE! The cost of the whole event is roughly $20,000! What are some of the things we purchase with the money that is donated?

**Every year, local businesses and individuals will donate certain items on the above list. There are years where we receive more donations of products than others.

Fall Derbies

Every year, Wolf Creek NFH and Friends of Wolf Creek NFH host the Fall Derbies. These derbies consist of:

  • Wounded Warriors Fishing Event

  • Catch A Smile Senior Derby

  • Reach For Rainbows Special Needs Kids Fishing Derbies (2 Days/6 Counties)

​

The cost of these four events is between $7,000-$10,000.

Wounded Warrior Fishing Event Purchases:

  • Lunch (the last two years, lunch was catered)
